Heated seat retrofit kit
While heated seats were an option for the 300b marauder, they were not for the 300a. Unlike other missing options, like traction control, the harnesses and hook ups are not present in the 300a at all. This leads to the retrofit being one of the harder mods to do. This is an attempt to make a kit that is as stock as possible. If you don't care about that than it is easier to get an aftermarket kit like a dorman.

Problems:
1) the switches are not present in the door panel.
2) the harness from the switch to the seat is not present inside the door.
3) the harnesses is not independent and is pinned into the power control harness under the seat
4) the element connection harness is not present under the seats.
5) the heating elements are not present in the seats to plug into.
6) elements not removeable from seat cushion.
6) the passenger seat connection uses an entirely different plug than the non-heated seat.
7) fuse is not present in fusebox.
8) the heated seat module is not present under the seats.

At first most of the problems can be solved by swapping/repinning harnesses, swapping seats, separating wires from the main trunk, etc. However the different connector for the passenger seat pushed this method into absurdity. Looking at the wiring digram for the heated seat unit we can see that it interacts with no other system in the car.

This means it should be possible to build all the needed connections without cutting or slicing into anything.

Broken down, here is every nut and bolt needed:
2 switches
2 switch to harness harnesses
2 Heated seat modules
2 upper heater elements
2 lower heater elements
2 element connectors
2 module connectors
2 switch connectors
1 Fuse
Ring connection for ground
some kind of connection method to the power. Splice, tap, etc.

Connectors: (tasca prices)

Motorcraft part number ford part number Manufacturer pkc group standard bwd purpose # cost total
wpt-394 3U2Z-14S411-KNA TE 6-1419166 s-2159 pt2147 heating element connection 2 27.14 54.28
wpt-961 3U2Z-14S411-RHB e-3575-002 door harness connection 2 26.62 53.24
wpt-503 3U2Z-14S411-RNA s-2043 pt1691 heat module connection 2 41.09 82.18

Buying the connectors from motrocraft, standard, bwd, etc come wired with terminals but are exspensive. Buying and pinning the connector from the manufactures would be a fraction of the money but one connector is unknown and tracking down the pins and correct wire in the correct gauge can be tedious. (don't just use wire from radio shack! automotive wire can be gxl, txl, etc)

Switches:
The switches used in the marauder are also found on the 2003 -2006 Mercury Grand Marquis and 2004 - 2011 Lincoln Town Car.

These marauder doors have the hole cut out for the switch (and more than likely have the above 2 parts already installed.)

Note the y-1 2 pie slice mark. Not sure which manufacture that is.

This module can be found on other models built around the same time, such as the thunderbird.

Module mounting bracket. This is riveted to the seat frame. The position on the frame is different between driver and passenger. There doesn't seem to be a part number. Most likely comes with the heated seat.
